TMZ is now reporting that Tiger's wife Elin Nordegren scratched the golfer's face up after confronting him about reports that he was having an affair with Rachel Uchitel. Tiger Woods then tried to escape his angry wife who allegedly chased after him with a golf club, beating on his car and breaking his window. At this point a distracted Tiger hit the fire hydrant and then the tree. Rachel Uchitel denies the affair.
Tiger Woods may have been taking prescription painkillers at the time of the crash. The couple have two small children together. Elin apparently pulled her husband out of the vehicle and placed him in the road where she was standing over him when police arrived. He was reportedly unconscious for up to six minutes.
