One of basketballs greats has been diagnosed with blood cancer. Kareem, 62, says doctors caught his chronic myeloid leukemia early, when they discovered it last December. He was told that his cancer didn't have to be a death sentence if he followed the proper regime, which he says he is. He has declined to state his prognosis. He is now on an educational campaign to encourage people to take their cancer medication and get treatment.
